2014 CAIMS*SCMAI Election Results
Elections were held this year for Treasurer, Communications Officer, and two Member-at-Large positions on the Board of Directors of CAIMS*SCMAI. We are very grateful to the candidates who put their names forward for these positions.
With a single nomination for each of the Treasurer and Communications Officer positions, Lucy Campbell (Carleton University) will become the CAIMS*SCMAI Treasurer at the 2014 AGM, while Luciano Buono (UOIT) will become the first CAIMS*SCMAI Communications Officer.
The votes for the two Member-at-Large positions were counted on Monday, April 28, 2014, by Sharene Bungay, witnessed by a staff member of the Department of Computer Science, Memorial University of Newfoundland. Dr. Huaxiong Huang (York University) and Dr. Steve Ruuth (SFU) have been elected to the Board for a three-year term, beginning at the 2014 AGM.
We thank Matt Davison, Hongmei Zhu, and Nilima Nigam, whose terms are complete this year, for their service to the Society.

CAIMS*SCMAI 2016 Annual Meeting: Invitation for bids
The CAIMS*SCMAI Board invites bids for the 2016 Annual Meeting (typically to be held in late June) from Departments and/or Institutions. Any member wishing to hold the 2016 meeting should first consult with close colleagues willing to offer support and then contact either the President, President-Elect, or Secretary with an expression
of interest and/or to discuss informally.
There is no formal procedure to make a bid, and a variety of geographic and logistical considerations are taken into account when the Board decides on the winning bid. Normally however the CAIMS*SCMAI Board would like to consider all proposals and make a decision before the end of 2014.
