The Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Waterloo
has announced two faculty and four postdoctoral positions.

+ Tenure Track Assistant Professor Position in Fluid Mechanics
(In special cases, Associate or Full will be considered.)

2. Call for candidates in the CAIMS*SCMAI 2024 elections, deadline 31-01-2024

CAIMS*SCMAI will be holding its 2024 elections in March-April 2024.
The open positions are
+ Communications Officer (duration 3 years)
+ Two Board Members-at-Large (duration 3 years each)

All members of CAIMS*SCMAI are invited to put forward names of candidates for these offices. Applications should reach the CAIMS*SCMAI Secretary, Christina Christara (secretary@caims.ca) by January 31, 2024.

Once you express interest for a position, you will be asked to provide a short statement (half a page bio and similar information) and a picture of yourself.


3. Call for Minisymposium Proposals for CAIMS*SCMAI 2024 Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society • Société Canadienne de Mathématiques Appliquées et Industrielles (CAIMS•SCMAI) will take place in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, June 24-27, 2024.
It is organized by Queen’s University and will be held together with the Canadian Symposium in Fluid Dynamics (CSFD), celebrating 50 years from the first CSFD.

Call for Minisymposium Proposals for CAIMS*SCMAI 2024 Meeting

* Minisymposia will consist of 120 minute blocks containing four (4) talks per block.
* Each talk will be 25 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions and transition.
* Minisymposium proposals should consist of 4 to 16 speakers.
* Minisymposium organizers will be contacted with details on how to schedule talks.
* Review of proposals for minisymposia will begin March 1, 2024.

4. Reminder: CAIMS*SCMAI Award Nominations are open, deadline 31-01-2024

Calls for nominations for all CAIMS awards/prizes are now open
with a deadline for submissions January 31, 2024.
Consider nominating someone for one of our prizes and awards.

5. Dianoia, the newsletter of ICIAM

The International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM)
publishes a newsletter titled “Dianoia”, approximately 4 times a year.
