1. Call for candidates in the CAIMS*SCMAI 2025 elections, deadline 31-01-2025

CAIMS*SCMAI will be holding its 2025 elections in March-April 2025.
The open positions are
+ President-Elect (duration 2 years, then rolling to President, and Past President)
+ Treasurer (duration 3 years)
+ Two Board Members-at-Large (duration 3 years each)

The above positions start in the summer of 2025, right after the Annual General Meeting during the CAIMS/SIAM joint meeting (July 28 – Aug 1, 2025).

All members of CAIMS*SCMAI are invited to put forward names of candidates for these offices. Applications should reach the CAIMS*SCMAI Secretary, Christina Christara (secretary@caims.ca) by January 31, 2025.

Once you express interest for a position, you will be asked to provide a short statement (half a page bio and similar information) and a picture of yourself.


2. Founding Dean of Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences position at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, starting consideration 1-1-2025

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is establishing
the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences (FCMS), as of 1 January 2025. It will initially comprise three constituent academic units: Department of Applied Mathematics, Department of Computing, and Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of Queen’s University

5. Lead Researcher and Senior Bio-Mathematician position at Algiamed Technologies, asap

Algiamed Technologies is looking for an experienced researcher
with Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and with peer reviewed publications
to take on the role of Lead Researcher and Senior Bio-Mathematician.

Work location is hybrid (Burnaby, BC, and home).
Salary $150-170K per annum. Extended benefits.
Main responsibilities: Biomathematical modelling 70%; Lead Researcher 30%
Start as soon as possible.

6. Faculty positions in Computer Science at the University of Toronto, deadline 2-1-2024

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for multiple faculty positions with appointment commencing on July 1, 2025, or shortly thereafter.
Any area of Computer Science, including Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing, will be considered.

There are five Assistant Professor, Tenure Stream positions, one position of higher level, as well as one Contractually Limited Term Appointment (CLTA) position.

Anticipated start date: July 1, 2025 or shortly thereafter.

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter.

While the processing of applications starts immediately, full consideration will be given to all applications submitted by the closing date of January 2, 2025. (For the teaching position the closing date is December 2, 2024.)
