2. MSI (CAIMS*SCMAI journal) submission webpage
The submission process for the CAIMS*SCMAI journal Mathematics in Science and
Industry (MSI) has changed. Submissions are now processed via the web portal
https://ojs.library.ubc.ca/index.php/msi/about/submissions
MSI publishes mathematically innovative research papers and review papers on
topics relevant to real-world applications. Submissions in all areas of applied
and industrial mathematics are welcome.

3. SIAM/CAIMS*SCMAI extension of deadline for MS proposals, now 10-2-2025
The deadline for minisymposium proposal submissions for
the 2025 Joint SIAM/CAIMS*SCMAI meeting
(July 28 – August 1, 2025, Montréal, Québec, Canada)
has been extended to February 10, 2025.

4. Increase of job ad fee at CAIMS*SCMAI webpage and E-news
CAIMS*SCMAI maintains a page of paid job ads at

As of March 1, 2025,
the fee for posting a job ad on the CAIMS*SCMAI webpage
will increase from $100 (CAD) to $130 (CAD),
and the fee for posting a short job ad in the next E-news
will increase from $50 (CAD) to $65 (CAD),

6. Call for candidates in the CAIMS*SCMAI 2025 elections, deadline 31-01-2025
Reminder:
CAIMS*SCMAI will be holding its 2025 elections in March-April 2025.
The open positions are
+ President-Elect (duration 2 years, then rolling to President, and Past President)
+ Treasurer (duration 3 years)
+ Two Board Members-at-Large (duration 3 years each)
The above positions start in the summer of 2025, right after the Annual General Meeting during the CAIMS/SIAM joint meeting (July 28 – Aug 1, 2025).
All members of CAIMS*SCMAI are invited to put forward names of candidates for these offices. Applications should reach the CAIMS*SCMAI Secretary, Christina Christara (secretary@caims.ca) by January 31, 2025.
Once you express interest for a position, you will be asked to provide a short statement (half a page bio and similar information) and a picture of yourself.
7. CAIMS*SCMAI Cecil Graham Doctoral Dissertation Award, deadline 31-01-2025
Reminder:
Call for nominations for the
CAIMS*SCMAI Cecil Graham Doctoral Dissertation Award
is still open
with a deadline for submissions January 31, 2025.
(The other awards had an earlier deadline of 30-11-2024
as mentioned in past E-news and in the past Annual Meeting.)
