The CAIMS*SCMAI Annual General Meeting of members will take place on
Wednesday, July 30 12:15 PM – 1:45 PM (Room 517C),
at the Montréal Convention Centre / Palais des congrès, Montréal, Québec.

It includes, the Notice of AGM (incl. minutes of past AGM 25-6-2024 and choice of remote participation), agenda, financial statements, and proxy form.
2. CAIMS*SCMAI Awards Dinner, Thu 31-July-2025, 6:30 PM, buy tickets by July 21
CAIMS*SCMAI organizes its annual dinner during the CAIMS/SIAM joint meeting.
During the dinner, the CAIMS*SCMAI awards will be presented.
There is no other dinner organized during the conference,
so this is a great opportunity to mingle and network.
The dinner is open to members, non-members and friends.
Date/time: Thursday, July 31, 6:30 p.m.

4. Faculty position, Queen’s University, deadline October 30, 2025
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Queen’s University invites applications for the Peter Taylor Professorship at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) in any area of the Mathematical Sciences, with a preferred starting date of July 1, 2026.

+ a cover letter indicating whether or not you have a valid legal work status in Canada;
+ a current Curriculum Vitae (including a list of publications);
+ a statement outlining research interests and accomplishments;

5. Survey on participation in scientific organizations, deadline August 5, 2025
As a member society of the International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM), CAIMS*SCMAI has been asked to forward this request to its members.
The International Science Council (ISC, https://council.science/), the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP, https://www.interacademies.org/) and the Standing Committee for Gender Equality in Science (SCGES, https://gender-equality-in-science.org/), have launched a global qualitative survey to understand how scientists experience participation in scientific organizations. The survey explores pathways to participation, organizational cultures, perceived benefits and barriers, and the factors that shape access to leadership, visibility, and recognition.
The survey is intended for scientists of all genders who are actively involved in scientific organizations—including academies, disciplinary unions, professional societies, and young academies.
If this applies to you, we warmly invite you to share your experiences by completing the survey, and we also encourage you to invite colleagues from your organization to contribute.
If not, we would be grateful if you could forward this invitation to colleagues who are actively involved in scientific organizations in your country or region.
