It is a great honour for the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematical Society to present the 2021 Research Prize to Prof. David Earn of McMaster University. The award is given in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the mathematical epidemiology of infectious diseases. His work and digitization efforts have had and will continue to have incredible impact in epidemiology, applied mathematics, and beyond.
