It is with great pleasure that the Canadian Applied and Industrial Mathematics Society presents the 2019 Cecil Graham Doctoral Dissertation Award to Dr. Amir Maleki. The award is given in recognition of a high-quality, insightful thesis addressing multiple aspects of modeling displacement flows used to cement wells in oil and gas industry. They employed a variety of mathematical methods to model, analyze, and simulate turbulent and mixed displacement flow regimes, and applied their results to examine the validity of existing industrial practices.
