The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen’s University invites applications for a 3-year Non-Renewable faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with specialization in Mathematics and Engineering with a preferred starting date of July 1, 2021.
The Mathematics and Engineering Program, and the Department of Mathematics and Statistics more broadly, offers an excellent environment for research and teaching with very high standards and a collaborative environment. In Mathematics and Engineering there are presently groups in Control Theory, Fluid Mechanics, and Information and Communication Theory. The successful candidate will be expected to work in an area of study that complements areas already represented within the department.
Candidates must have a PhD (or an equivalent degree) in Mathematics, in Engineering, or in a related area, completed by the start date of the appointment. The successful candidate will provide evidence of high-quality scholarly output that demonstrates potential for independent research, as well as strong record of teaching and willingness to be involved in the vibrant undergraduate program in Mathematics and Engineering. The successful candidate is also expected to make service contributions to the Department, the Faculty of Arts & Science, the University, and/or the broader community. Candidates eligible to obtain a license (either full or limited) as a Professional Engineer are preferred. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
